We’re delighted to have Rhino’s Gymnasium in Stamford once again supporting the Barnack Beer Festival. Rhino’s is a genuinely local, family-run business, founded by father and son Nick and Sam Swann. Shaws of Maxey – More Than a Century on the Road Just a few miles from Barnack, Shaws of Maxey is one of those wonderful local businesses whose name has become part of the fabric of the area. The company was founded in 1922 by Edwin ‘Teddy’ Shaw, who began with a single bus operating local services into Peterborough. From those modest beginnings, Shaws grew into a much-loved coach company offering day trips, holidays and private coach hire, while remaining firmly rooted in Maxey. More than a century later, Shaws is still based at 49 High Street, Maxey, and in May 2025 entered a new chapter under new ownership.
