Barnack Beer Festival ("we", "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have. The festival is a charitable event run by volunteers.
Contact Form
When you complete our contact form, we collect your first name, last name, email address, and the options you tick (attending, sponsoring, or supporting on the day).
- To respond to enquiries about attending, sponsoring, or volunteering.
- To send you relevant updates about the festival where you have asked us to.
- Your submission is stored securely and is only visible to festival organisers.
- We do not sell or share your details with third parties for marketing.
You can ask us to correct or delete your contact details at any time by emailing the festival team.
Shop & Payments
When you buy a festival t-shirt, your order is processed through our secure payment provider (Base44 Payments, powered by Wix). We collect what is needed to fulfil your order:
- Your name, email, and delivery/collection details — collected on the secure checkout page.
- The items, sizes, and amount paid, so we can prepare your order for collection at the festival.
- A unique checkout reference that links your payment to your order.
Payment card details are handled entirely by our payment provider and are never seen by or stored on our systems. We keep a record of orders for accounting and fulfilment, and to mark your t-shirt as collected on the day.
Cookies
We use a small number of first-party, essential cookies/local storage items to make the site work — for example, remembering your shopping cart and that you have already voted. These do not track you across other sites and do not require consent.
By default, every visitor is opted out of non-essential cookies. The cookie banner you see on first visiting lets you accept optional analytics cookies, or reject them. Your choice is remembered on this device. You can change your mind at any time by clearing your browser storage for this site.
Your Rights
- Access — you can ask what data we hold about you.
- Correction — you can ask us to fix inaccurate details.
- Erasure — you can ask us to delete your data where we have no legal reason to keep it.
- Opt out — you can withdraw consent for non-essential cookies at any time.
To exercise any of these rights, contact the festival team. If you have a concern about how your data is handled, you can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
Data Retention
Contact form submissions are kept for as long as needed to respond to your enquiry and for reasonable festival record-keeping. Order records are kept for accounting purposes and to manage t-shirt collection on the day.
